About Us
OpenPantry is built by people who believe pantry workers deserve software as dedicated as they are.
Founder
Ohad Klopman
Founder
Ohad founded OpenPantry out of a conviction that the people who feed their neighbors deserve better tools — and that good software can turn hours of pantry paperwork back into time spent with people.
Ohad grew up volunteering at food pantries from a young age, starting with a charity founded in his hometown. Ohad went on to work in the Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services, where he managed grants for food pantries throughout the city and trained volunteers to streamline their operations.
Today, Ohad works as a fundraising data engineer, building the software that powers donor engagement and development operations. He's building OpenPantry using the same principles he follows as a data engineer: reliability, traceability, accuracy, and speed.
Between his background in nonprofit technology and his lifelong commitment to food access, Ohad is determined to make OpenPantry a tool that promotes food security everywhere.
Team
OpenPantry is early, and the team is small and hands-on. As we grow, we'll add our team members here.
Want to be part of it? Whether you write code, run a pantry, or simply care about this work, reach out! We read every message.
